A one-day seminar on ‘Property Taxation in Nigeria’ organised by the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), Nigerian Chapter, will hold at the Golden Gate Restaurant, Kingsway Road, Ikoyi, Lagos today.

The President, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria, Mr. John Jegede will chair the programme.  Speakers will include the chairman, Federal Inland Revenue, the chairman, Lagos State Internal Revenue and Mr. Chudi Ubosi, an estate surveyor and valuer.

A statement signed by FIABCI General Secretary, Nigerian Chapter, Mr. Joseph Akhigbe said, “it is bound to be an educative and yet explosive session as issues relating to the different types of property tax such as the Land Use Charge, Probate Tax, Withholding Tax, Consent Fees, Stamp Duties, Registration fees, etc will be exhaustively discussed.”

Expected participants include estate surveyors and valuers, tax administrators, estate agents and the general public.

FIABCI is a business club of real estate professionals in 60 countries, 100 national real estate associations, Special consultant with NGO status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations Organisation (ECOSOC).
