An indigenous developer, Redbrick Homes Limited, has unfolded plans to construct 700 homes at the Amen Estate in Lekki, Lagos, which will boost the housing stock in the country.

The estate, located at Lekki Peninsula, Eleko Beach Road, Ibeju-Lekki area sits on a 48 hectares of land. The project commenced close to one year and currently have 60 completed houses, which according to the promoters were fully subscribed, while work was on-going on the second phase of the project.

Cross River State Executive Council has endorsed contract for the commencement of foundational construction works at the proposed, ₦8 billion Calabar International Convention Centre, to be cited adjacent Tinapa Business and Leisure Resort, Calabar.

According to the Special Adviser to Governor Liyel Imoke on Event Management, Mr. Nzan Ogbe, pilling works at the site of the proposed centre is expected to complete within 21 weeks.

To meet the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (UN-MDGs) on housing needs in Yobe State in the year 2015, Yobe State Executive Council, last week approved the release of ₦1.6 billion for the construction of 300 additional housing units under the state government’s Owner Occupier Housing Programme (OOHP).

Rising from the council meeting at the Government House, Damaturu, the Commissioner for Information, Mr. Goni Fika disclosed to Journalists that the additional 300 housing units are to complement the already completed 1, 000 housing units built by government.
