Agriculture is the economic mainstay of the people in Ijebu-North. They produce products like oil-palm, cocoa, coffee, kolanut, maize, yam, cassava, coco-yam, vegetables and poultry stock. These agricultural products are the source of raw-materials for agro-allied industries which in turn utilize the available labor in the area. The dwellers in this area are called the IJEBUS and it is a Yoruba speaking area. The local government has 11 political wards.
